Disqus comments
Step #2 – Disqus comments – Think like the Web
..or look for and use those tools and services that make it MORE likely others can comment on, reblog, repost, tweet, bookmark or otherwise pass along a mention of your page or site.
In the first tutorial on Tumblr, one of the main reasons for using Tumblr is that a blog within Tumblr has a high viral potential. (It doesn’t hurt that it’s free and free of branding to permit you to cleanly identify your site as your own including your own URL/domain name.)
Following this logic, comments are the next way you make it easy for those following your work and your web presence to communicate with you on your content. Disqus.com comments are the best way I’ve seen to implement comments. The commenting systems inherent in Wordpress or other blogs are simple, but the advantage of Disqus is that someone registered with any of several other large social sites, including Disqus itself, may use that log in to post to your comments.
By using Disqus you’re eliminating barriers and that’s what you’re after.
Once you have a Tumblr blog up take a look at their FAQ for information on adding Disqus comments or check out Disqus.com for information on implementing their comments on Tumblr.
Disqus is an example, but you should continue to look for ways to open your content and remove barriers.
