Step #3 – Do you have “Content” – Before You Go Any Further!
Before going any further, you need to know some of the steps after this involve some expense..both monthly fees and the potential for one time fees for some tools.
Because of this and because time=money when you’re paying fees monthly, you need to consider if you have a portfolio of content ready, that you can use on your new site? If you’ve done any work on your Tumblr page’s template or just used a stock template, have you been posting relevant posts about your work? performance videos? images of art? short pieces of your writing? Do you have more?
If not, you should probably think about building up a quantity of pieces or videos or other documentation you can use to show off your work.
If you have a room full of paintings, are out every week performing and get video regularly, etc. then you’re fine. You have plenty to put up when your new site is ready.
